The Origins of Feng Shui

"It is the study of the effects on humans of living in a particular place at a given time and how they respond to the natural environment around them. either positively or negatively. Balancing the energy or Chi of people within their own personal space or even global communities is the goal of a practitioner to bring about health, wealth and happiness."

The literal translation for the word is Feng- meaning the word wind in chinese and Shui- meaning water. The place where wind meets water is said to be where energy collects and disperses for the benefit of all. The ancient geomancers who worked the land many centuries ago in the East studied the movement of both of these elements to locate sites where the ancestors should be buried.

Later, this same skill was used to determine where the best location and direction for dwellings could be in order to benefit from the natural topography of the landscape. They would search for healthy plots where the sun shone on the right side of the mountain, where the crops would grow well and the people would thrive, and the location would in turn support them, giving protection from the elements and add vitality into their lives.

This observational technique using the senses was in turn extended to include precise measurements on what was known as the chinese Lo Pan compass, which by this time also incorporated the influences of the stars & the moon on planet earth's magnetic alignments.

So highly regarded was this essential information that Feng Shui masters were soon employed by the Imperial palaces of China to protect and benefit the rulers. Mainstream Feng Shui became inaccessible to all but the richest of nobles for centuries until finally many, many years later, the knowledge began to filter through again to the descendents of the Imperial palace of which Great, Grand master Chan Kun Wah was one. Grand master Chan was his disciple.

This is the direct lineage from which I have trained under the tutelage of Master Kajal Sheth, Grand Master Chan Kan Wah's specialist teacher for the modern day Imperial school of Feng Shui. The style is known as Yuen Hom Feng Shui - from something to nothing and from nothing to something - this is the mystery of the void the intangible, the invisible solutions which gives proven results for clients today, time after time. A truly Authentic style of Feng shui adapted to provide solutions for today's modern lifestyle.
